Do it every trip. so far not lost one, but if storm or hvy wind is comeing, i still am smart about it and put away, this past weekend we had some gust at 20 mph , the biggest thing I have noticed it not having the de-flappers on it seems to let the wind under it push it up in middle.

What we think of as backward is a site set up for a motor home to pull in.

I have seen them on waterfront lots. I guess the motor home folks don't know how to back in, only out.

I've seen some some sites- granted they are rare - with hook ups on both sides so you have the option of backing or pulling in. Nice as it allows one to position their camper away from neighbors if they are only on one side as was the case when we were there. This was at a private resort CG near Virginia Beach. The owner had installed hook ups that way to increase its rental usage.

Several years ago Acadia NP paid some idiots to redesign Blackwoods. They actually have most sites with a true 45 degree back in or worse. Boulders in bad places for backing. No electric so where to plug in not a problem. With the behmouths, trees and small ditches in strategic places, backing can be interesting. I had a park worker tell me I would get it in eventually (got my huge 15 ft Cabin A in with the help of a lady who stood between me and the class A across the street and kept telling me to keep coming towards her so I could get into that true 45 Degree campsite lined with trees and shrubs. I can back, that is not the issue, it is the crappy campsites. I now go to Seawall sites are some better, but do not camp in the RV section. Not sure about with the TM, it is over 20 ft unfolded.

Was in Big Bend National Park last month and the Chisos Basin campground had undergone some upgrades. They put in a nice new dump station....on the wrong side of a one way street

This campground has a 20 ft trailer size limit due to its narrow twisty roads...so you are NOT going to turn around and get the hookups on the correct side. We managed to make it by s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g the hose...but why would anyone put in the new dump station on the wrong side of the street???

It's an NP, tax payer money at work by choosing the lowest bidder??

There is a commercial campground around Gettysburg that have central electric and water connections in like a pod, you come in, pick a piece of land and hook up, others come in around you. have not been back.

Another commercial campground, I think in NJ, I had to go buy a 30 amp extension cord and another 25' of hose as the utilities were by the street. Have not been back to that one either...also had to take my own disinfectant in the showers, the walls were slimey. They blamed it on being so close to the ocean..have camped on the beach in MB and did NOT have that problem.

I'm glad you at least didn't blame it directly on government workers like many are fond of doing.

Yes, there is a LOT of waste that goes on in the government, but I could also write a book on the rip-offs and shoddy work done by gov't contractors as well.

One time they hired the construction of a new visitor control building on the site where I work. (My job has nothing to do with construction or facilities). The plans called for an central exit door on the East side, with entrance doors on the North and South walls. This was to allow a future fence around a secure area. So people could enter from the side doors and check in then exit into where the secure buildings were located.

Contractors built the foundation and started construction and by the time anyone inspected it, they found it backwards. Too costly to change it so they just went with it from there.

I worked for a State Government for over 20 years and got blamed for a lot of things the politicians made us do, so I only blame where blame is due. This is kind of off topic.
The campground that I went to in NJ had all the utilities by the road, I think it was a cost saving measure. and if I remember the pole help 2 electric and 2 waters. cannot remember if this campground, mine was on the correct side or not, but I went to the local camper dealer and bought the extension, middle of summer on the Jersey Shore so I could hardly run the AC on a standard household extension cord.
