And I see in post #23 of the thread, http://www.trailmanorowners.com/foru...ead.php?t=7270 that Bill refered to, there is another c channel configuration used on the slide models.

Maybe a 2417 is a better choice since it will fit in the garage without the swing hitch.

Good find! That swing hitch was clearly fabbed with a C-channel. No break between the top and bottom halves. Possibly the height of that front face is different, so a C-channel is available, but one thing is for sure. The folks at The Car Show need to co-ordinate with the folks at Custom RV.

Default Swing or Removable Hitch

Bill and Jswinner
That looks like a nice Mod, but it looks like you have to remove the 2 Bolts when you want to swing the hitch, but it definitely would stiffin the hitch, and probably wouldn't be much trouble.
I dropped an e-mail of to Matt Thacker of Custom Rv with Bills suggestion

Interesting idea. Drill two holes. Install two good sized bolts. Makes sense.
I wonder if it would add extra strength to the entire frame assembly or just shift stress off the removable pin assembly?
