Default cleaning the black stains off the curtains

We figured out the cause of the black stains, thanks to discussions here, and are painting the bare aluminum spots on the ceiling and the outside. We are left with one curtain which has a distinct black stripe down it. Any suggestions on what will remove it?

p.s. bathroom scrubbing bubbles are magic on the black spots!! WOW! But that is for the TM itself, not the curtains...

Elsewhere on the forum it was suggested that the product called "Tuff Stuff" from Wal-Mart or other sources was great on the curtains. My wife did all of them and they turned out great. Be sure to leave them in place as they will shrink if not installed on the tracks (read and follow the instructions).

It also works great on the upholstery as well.

Have fun.

Tuff Stuff multi-purpose foam cleaner (as suggested by others in the forum) to be very effective on the curtains. I found it in the automotive section at Walmart.

I would try taking it off and and hand washing with woolite.

Thanks all! I'll go shopping at Walmart. I've washed them before but the black stuff is just horrible. We are slowly working our way through the painting.
