2619 layout
We are first time RVers, new to this Forum, and are considering purchasing a new TM. We like the 2619 for many things and especially the ability to store in our garage. With just 2 of us, we really prefer a sofabed instead of the dinette and second double bed. Does anyone have insight into whether TM would consider making it that way instead of with the dinette and second double bed? Thanks.

You could contact the factory on the website and ask if they would make a 2619QS to see if they would. If not you might consider the 2720QS with a swing tongue. It fits quite nicely in a standard garage.
Good luck and welcome to the TM Forum.

somewhere i recall reading where some dealers where carrying both options , either the sofa or dinette to install on the pullout. so one would not have to wait on one from factory. maybe someone else can confirm this?

Update from the factory
Hi checked with the main office at TM and they said that the weight distribution with the sofa is the problem. They don't substitute a sofa for the dinette in the 2619.

Pretty sure there is not a lot of difference in length, and as someone else said you can get a swing tongue which should make it fit.
Worth it to get the layout you want. Plus queen bed. Isn't 2619 double bed on both ends? ?

For just two, you might want to consider the 2417. It has a king sized bed and a nice outside storage area. It has options for the other side. At 17 feet it fits easily in a garage. My husband and I love ours. It has everything we want, and is very easy to pull. We have the narrower version, which makes it even easier.

We are definitely leaning toward the 2417. Question: we are going to be camping in National Forests and sometimes those roads are a bit rough. Any experience with putting 15" wheels and higher axle on the 2417?

When we bought our 2417, a 13" wheel was standard, and a 14" was extra. So, we have the 14 inch, with the higher axle (actually, I do not believe the axle is higher, but there is some sort of spacer to raise the trailer, but I am not sure). We do not plan to take it off road, but we have a steep part of our driveway, and need the extra clearance. It is fine.

I do take my 2417 offroad, and have had no problems. I had (just sold it, and am getting another 2417, but this time a 2417KD) 13" wheels, and a 2" lift kit. Did not scrape on the rocky stuff.
Forest Service roads are not a problem at all, as they are only somewhat rutted. If you go on Forest Service 4wd trails, (very rough roads), just pick your line carefully. The new models have 14" wheels, so the axle is about ¾" higher than my 13" wheels, and the new lift kits are 2½", not 2" like mine was. So, the new models have about an extra 1¼" of clearance for the axle.
That said, my TM axle was a bit higher than the bottom of my differentials, so if my Grand Cherokee could clear the rock, then the TM would clear it. I plan to do even more Forest Service trails with my new 2417. I prefer getting away from other campers.
Hope this helps.
