trailer inspection
We bought our '05 2619 last November and noticed at the time of purchase it had an inspection sticker on the side. Must we have it inspected yearly at a RV dealer or can any inspection station take care of it?

Did you buy it from a buyer in another state? I've owned several RVs here in Tx and never had one inspected. It's not a motor vehicle, so no inspection required. Motorhome require inspection. And this is from the state regarding inspection on trailers weighing more

It was bought in Texas at Crestview RV in Buda. My husband in meticulous about maintaining the trailer, checks all components on a regular basis, we were just wondering what other owners do and if it was required . Thank you so much for your prompt response.

You say it was bought in Buda, but did it have Texas plates on it? Was the inspection sticker a Texas issued decal? I've not seen one, never been asked for one, although I've never been pulled over for any type of infraction while towing.
Update... I spoke with my vehicle insurance agent, she is my sister, and she said yes. There is an inspection sticker on trailers over 4500 lbs. which means, that most TM units do not meet that weight standard. She relocated to TX a few years ago and brought her CA state plated 5th wheel with her and they had to get it inspected prior to new registraton. But, it's 12k lbs. she does not recall that there is an expiration date with the sticker? It may pertain to units being brought in from out of state.

No Weighing Required
Registered trailers with a gross weight or registered gross weight of 4,500 pounds or less are not required to have inspections. This weight is "empty weight" and is normally indicated on the title. Otherwise, the trailer can be weighed at a certified weigh station.
Annual Inspections
Travel trailers over 4,500 lbs. receive inspection annually. You should display a current inspection sticker on a window at or near the left front side of the trailer.
What's Inspected
A travel trailer inspection differs from that of motorized vehicles. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, trailers are inspected for brakes, tires, wheel assembly, safety guards or flaps (if there are four tires or more on the rear axle), two tail lights, two brake lights, one license plate lamp, rear red reflectors, turn signal lights, clearance lights, side marker lights, side reflectors, and a serial or vehicle identification number. By inspecting these features ahead of time and resolving any issues, owners can avoid the hassle of a failed inspection.
