Default Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene is expected to become a major (cat 3+) storm later today.

Current models suggest a Carolinas landfall late this week.

Anyone on the US East Coast should stay aware of this storm, it could be very damaging.

We are watching this storm as well. General consensus of the News mongers is that it will miss us and head to N.C. We will watch and wait mean while the TM is packed and ready to go.

Felt the Earthquake all the way down here today while eyeballing the hurricanes projected tracks (some of which include us).

Sounds like a good time to have an impromptu TrailManor rally somewhere inland a little. Like in AL or TN....possibly MS

Over the past 30 years, I have met more than a few people from the east coast that would never come to California because of the earthquakes. Boy, were they naive.

Reading the news this morning computer models suggest that if it gets close enough to New York City that underwater subway tubes might fill with water. elevated sections might topple over in a few areas.

Tomorrow I am walking 10K that finishes on home plate at AT&T park. Then staying for the Giants game.

I love California. Our income, sales an property taxes are not as bad as some people think the are. But we do have a very high weather tax.

Be well.

I have a friend who was a life long resident of south Louisiana up until a few years ago when he moved to Virginia. Like myself, he's seen many hurricanes, but never an earthquake, so after I heard the news about this week's east coast quake I asked him what was it like. He simply replied, "I prefer hurricanes."
He went on to tell the story about when the quake hit he wasn't sure what was going on, so he walked out in the hall of his office and was almost run over by the company owner yelling to "Get out!".

You guys can try living in Arizona, people say it is to hot not true, just 4 months a year no worst then where you are living. We have four seasons (no snow) and camping 12 months a year :):) No hurricanes or earthquakes and 340 days of sunshine a year. We have been here since 1995 from Chicago, and never will leave, God’s little special place.

During the summer we go to the mountains and 30 degrees cooler a 3 hour drive and 7000’ high, then we come back here and we are 2000’ (hot). We have the best of two worlds in Arizona. During the winter we stay in the valley area like Tucson/Yuma or go to San Diego and camp. During the winter this is snowbird heaven so many parks for them, huge motorhomes and so much money spent here.
