But it got down to -32C (-27F) the other night, plus the "frolic" has turned to "shovel". And we're really getting tired of carrying in more wood for the stove.

So the return to Fort Myers next week is looking better and better. We plan on slowly hauling everything back up to Ontario, arriving around the end of March.
Sounds like a good plan except I would mosey back to Ontario at the end of April.

Well, Spring is real nice up here too. The snow is melting/gone, the birds are coming back, tree's are beginning to leaf out, daffodils are coming up. The days are longer. You can do things outside that don't involve shoveling snow. Eventually the black flies come out but until then ...

And realistically, we can't stay away for more than 6-8 weeks at a time. There's only so much that can be done, business-wise, by email. And the Elkmont does get a "little" cramped after that long too. And maybe we do get a little homesick ...

Our whole-house humidifier is normally really great but in frigid temps like this (currently -15) it tends to ice up the windows and sliding glass door. The dogs think we have gone totally stupid because we won't (can't) open the door for them. Hopefully the space heater will thaw it out fairly soon . . .

6 degrees this morning at 8 a.m. Canadian cold front came down last night and is freezing everything from Montana to Mexico. Good day to look at the outside from the inside.

Beach Boy, I'm with you on the idea of waiting until the end of April vs March for northward travel. When I lived in Indiana, a few years back, March seemed to be the time for blizzards and those "I sure wish it weren't snowing again snowstorms!".

I won't mention the temp outside here right now, but I will mention that I had to cut the grass yesterday. I called up one of my favorite campgrounds to see if I could get into the park this weekend, and the response was "no way!". They're jammed with license tags from snow (blizzard) country until mid-March.

Oh well, God bless 'em - we need their money!

My wife flew from San Jose to Chicago yesterday. She took the first flight out, non stop.

She landed around 1:30. The airport was closed at 3:00

Anyone that intended to fly for the west coast to Chicago, if they left later than she did at 7:30 AM, then they did not make it. The only flight from SJC to ORD was that 7:30 flight. All other were canceled.

It was snow flurries at the airport, with light to moderate winds. By the time she got to the hotel the winds were high and the snowfall was heavy. A huge change in the weather for just an hour.

Right now it is 60F. The high should be 65 later today.

Chicago is 23 with a wind chill of 9. It was -9 earlier this morning.

Companies that do the annual sales kickoff meeting should not plan on going to Chicago in February.

February annual sales kickoff meetings should always be held in Key West

The day time high yesterday was 73 degrees.

Time to park the truck and take the motorcycle to work. Spring weather is here, at least for awhile.
