Default Outside shower plastic fitting cracked need help

We got set up at a campground last night and went to get water going and found a cracked plastic part located behind the outside shower. Pulled out panel and got photo. Not sure how to get this part out, is it press fitting? And what to use to fix it so we can have water in the camper.
Can anyone help with advice and info?

You are in luck (sort of). The two brass pieces in the first photo are known as "Shark Bite" fittings. They will slip off the short length of white plastic pipe between them, and you can replace the pipe and slip the fittings back on. You need a special "key" to release the fittings, and assuming you don't have one, you can buy one for a couple bucks at Home Depot, etc.

It appears that a previous owner had the same problem (freezing) with the original plumbing, and repaired it using the Shark Bite fittings. Draining this bit of plumbing - the outside shower - is one step in the winterizing procedure that you will find discussed here on the Forum.

Default Thanks!

Hi Bill
Thanks for the info. I was hoping I could just replace the plastic piece. We drained the shower hose but I can see how this would take some extra effort to get the water out of these back fittings. This camper has had multiple owners. Hopefully we can find a tool at a local hardware store.

The tool makes it easier to push back the black plastic piece. Once this is done the pipe slides out. I’ve used a pair of pliers to push the black bits. The tool makes it easier but is not the only way.

Default Fixed

Got it fixed yesterday with the help of your information. Thanks! The parts on there are actually proline but the shark bite tool worked just fine. We have water!
