Remote temp sensor

Has anyone tried one of the remote tire temp / pressure sensors?   I heard of one, supposedly available through Discount Tire called "Smartire."  There may be other brands.

The idea is a tire failure usually follows either a temperature rise or a pressure loss.  These things are supposed to keep a display updated in your car, and have setpoint limits you can adjust to trigger warnings.

I've never met anyone who has used one.
