storage/cargo carrier

Has anyone installed a cargo carrier on the back of there tm rated for no more than 350lbs. I would like a little more travel storage and am thinking about installing a rear cargo carrier(unit has rear resever,made for bike rack) has any one done this with success. thanks for the input
