Default Bike Carrier

Was wondering how this bike attachment would work on the Trailmanor - has anyone used this item or something similar?

Are you sure the front shell of the TM won't hit the top of this rack when you open the TM? Check the dimensions.

It will work for hauling but you won’t be able to open the camper with the rack in place. I don’t know if it has a quick release function or maybe you could come up with something to make it removable when you get to the campsite.

Well, in the Camping World photo, I think the only thing you are buying is the black thing that is bolted to the A-frame of the camper. I'm not sure that the front shell of the camper would clear this black thing as it opens, but I would be surprised if the stated 33 1/2" height would work.

I think it goes without saying that the gray thing at the top of the photo would have to be removed. I believe that this gray thing is the actual bike rack itself, and is not included in the $330 price you are thinking of laying out. (Yay, Camping World!) Then, before you could open the camper, you would first have to unload the bikes, then pull the hitch pin, and finally pull the bike rack out of the black thing.

Doesn't sound very attractive to me.

By the way, you can buy pretty much this same thing for $156 on Amazon, or $140 minus 10% on oriclambo.com. Both have much better pictures.

One more thing. The Installation Manual points out that the cross tube at the top has a fixed length - it is not adjustable. That means that at the lower end, the mounting brackets that bolt to the trailer frame members are a fixed distance apart, also not adjustable. If these brackets don't fall at a handy place on the frame - tough.

Also if your 2720sl has the low slung horizontal tanks instead of the horizontal tanks that sit on top of the tongue, the brackets won’t fit the frame.

We just put the bikes inside the TM. Up to four of them. Full sized bikes require removing the front wheel. Kids ones go right in all stored in the dinette to fridge area.
