Default 2 holes in the top shell.

I have a hole on each side on one shell. I don’t see any obvious purpose for them other than to let rain water in if the wind is blowing. I suppose they could be some kind of vents. I bought this used so the previous owner may have done them. Does anyone else have them or know if they are supposed to be there before I fill them in?

They are weep holes! I read in the owners manuel and it has been discussed in the forum but for the life of me I can't remember where! I'll see if I can find it and report back!

I searched weep holes and found a full thread!
These holes are basically the gutter drains. Underneath the seals where the roof and sidewalls meet there is a channel formed by the bends of the two pieces, forming a channeled joint which tends to allow water which makes it past the seal to drain to the low points where these holes are found.

If these holes became blocked by debris, you could end up with moisture getting inside the TM.

I remember reading the discussion and the outcome was they are put there intentionally and should not be plugged.

While reapplying the plastic protector on the rear curbside today, I notice The Hole for the first time. My handy dandy partner answered my? with 'It's a weep hole for moisture - even masonry walls have them". We 'lost'the plastic protector [I know it has another proper name] when we came too close to another vehicle in a McDonald's parking lot last June. We also took off the close-down latch. We're all fixed up and will travel to Festus, MO on Monday to have the torsion bars adjusted. Plan a trip to southern Ohio and N.C. in October and then stow away for what is being predicted as a doozy of a winter in St. Louis.
