Question Is this a good price?

Dealer in Montgomery, al. has a 2005 2720 (not SD or SL) listed at $25752. It has low profile A/C, awning, tv antenna, microwave (no oven), microwave box w/drawer, swing hitch, TV shelf. Will sell it for $20,900. He will install hitch receiver, Prodigy controller w/ 7pin Bargman plug, and a weight distrubiting hitch. Total installed price, less tax, title, etc. $21,825.
Is this a decent deal? What do you guys think? Thanks, John

This is the one of the two lowest prices I have seen. It should be a good buy if you want a straight 2720.

John
I did a quick search and find one at Mattoon Ill for asking price of $19,489.00, MSRP $25,329.
Look on the cover page of this site, RVTraderonline.com, search for keyword 2720.

I bought a 2005 2720 in March. No TV antena, no microwave, over sink cabinet, microwave box(drawer), no TV shelf, swing away hitch, 40 gallon water tank, awning.

I paid more. Not a lot more, but more. I thought I got a good deal. Your deal sounds a little better. My wife insisted on the blue interior colors, so we had to order it.

Default We done gone and did it

Well, folks we did it. We bought that 2005 2720. Take delivery next Monday. God what have I got us into. Salesman said he normally spends 2-4 hours with a customer when they pick up their new TM. Downloaded Ed's Checklist, and informed the salesman that I would be bringing it. He said he was familiar with A checklist that others had brought and seemed not to be unhappy about it. He ask me to email him a copy. So hopefully he won't mind a picky, grumpy, 64 year old man. Wish us luck. We live 3 hours drive from the dealer so will bring TM home first. Then next weekend go to the Blackwater River State park. It is about 30 minutes away. Question. Are there any older folks who are physicaly, maybe mentally (haha) challenged who are TM owners? Im still concerned about the setup and takedown. I have a flailed chest, one and 1/4 lungs, seperated shoulder that has healed fairly well and had my elbow operated on. I can mow lawn, work in garden. Can't build fences, patio deck, or work on house anymore. Mostly concerned about the wardrobe and shower/bath setup. I can lift 40lbs one time. Lift 20 lbs several times. Then i must take a rest. Oh well, should have thought about this before. Want that TM bad though. Have lots of traveling and weekend camping to do. Wish us luck. And thanks for all the info on this site. It is a major reason we decided to go with a TM. John

Congratulations on your new baby..... imagine being a new parent at age 64. My regards to the misses, she must have had a great time with this one as big as it is.

There is a little trick that you can use in raising the roof. First of all, raising the roof is easier if the trailer is level both front to back and side to side. Then if the sections are still too heavy for a new father, you can begin by lowering the tongue as far down as it will go. Your front roof should raise more easily. Next crank the tongue up as high as it will go, maybe even put blocks under it. Now raise the rear section. It also will be lighter than ever now. Also, it is a good moment for the new mom to get acquainted with the new arrival by helping you. Next, lower the tongue and level your TM front to back. You can reverse this pocess when putting your TM away.

As for lifting the clothes closet, it can get heavy if you take more clothes than you expect to use. You could also get past this problem if you camped often at a nudist colony campground.

You ask if there are any other mentally or physically challenged owners. Does this include age challenged? Most of us fit into one or more of these categories. Even the most inflicted will do whatever is necessary to keep their baby from going to a foster home.

Don't get hung up on all these lists and the MANY things to do with the TM. They may make good reading on a cold night at camping before your fire place. You simply need now to know the basic steps to setting it up and taking it down. Our dealer has a brochure that is written in simple terms (I know, another one of those lists). It take you step by step through the proper order of sequence in setting up your TM. If you would like a copy, I can email you one. This afternoon, I am heading out for a long weekend of camping in the Colorado Mountains. So, I hope that I am not gone when you request this sheet.

In the mean time, remember it takes love and nourishment for your baby to adequately grow. I have known a few that when they got older would like to be a 3023 but just didn't receive the care they needed. Ignore the neighbors comments when they see you out hugging you TM. It will make you both proud to establish a good relationship with it. Someday, it may even call you Dad.

Hal, would you mind emailing me one of the setup/teardown lists you were referring to in your email to Granpa. I always forget something.

Thanks.

Any one wishing to have a copy of the brochure for setting up the TM can let me know via my email address [email protected]. I should see it quicker this way.

Thanks,
