Default Old glue smears

Our 2010 Trailmanor has a glue problem. There are smudges, splatters and even a hand print from what we can only guess happened years ago during assembly and then yellowed with age. Has anyone found a solution? Goo be gone was a flop.

I had a similar issue with our unit and tackled it in 2007. Like you, I found the typical glue removal products didn't work very well, if at all. What did work was tedious and took a lot of time. I used an old, thin, flexible credit card to scrape off as much of the old glue as possible. The corners on the card were slightly rounded making it easy to fit into the dimples of the ceiling and/or walls. Most of my glue overrun was on the ceilings. Acetone will do the trick but it will also remove the paint. Maybe a citric based "goo" remover would work?

I'm not saying that this is safe, and I wouldn't do it with any kind of a flame lit in the TM, but every time I've had to remove "goo" in the TM I take some paper towels, soak them with Coleman lantern fuel, and then tape them to the spot and leave it there for about half an hour. I guess that it depends on what kind of "goo" it's from. Ours was from the old Velcro strips that keep the flaps down next to the dinette. We have to re-do them every few years. We open the windows and don't stay outside.

Not saying that it's safe, but it works for us.
