Advice on repair of countertop

I'm looking at a TM that has damage to the countertop. Previous owner tried to close the trailer when somehting was left on the counter. Left a big dent/tear in the countertop material and can see the foam inside. Any suggestions on how best to easily fix this?

You can sand it and glue a new piece of formica on top of it !!!!

Good idea. Do you think factory would have the formica to match color and size or pretty easy to find this color and cut it myself?

It might be worth your time to purchase a new counter top from the factory. The lightweight material is about 3/16 inch thick with a layer of "formica"(?) It appears to be thicker due to the framework that surrounds it.
