Question How to remove sofas from a 2006 3023 TM?

I am renovating our much beloved "Tammy the Trailmanor" and want to reupholster the sofas. I have the cushions off the door side sofa but can't figure out how to get the armrests off. I haven't even tried the jack knife side. Any ideas, info, tutorials would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mine has little plastic caps covering screws on the sides of the armrests. These caps just popped off for me. But mine is a 2001 so it could have been different.

Bill, I have tried to look at various images online of the dinette vs lounge slide versions and i cannot get anything conclusive. What I can tell is that the slide dinette version has a thin wood "arm rest" that has a matching fabric stapled or glued on. This thin wood is primarily meant to keep the sofa cushion in place. From Gingerbread's description of a "door side" sofa, I was assuming he had a slide dinette, but now I'm not so sure.

It seems that the slide lounge has a more proper arm rest in some Trailmanors, but it also seems that some Trailmanors may have had none.

Gingerbread, it would be helpful to know if you have the lounge version (sofa along the very back of the trailer) or the dinette version (two sofas facing each other, like a diner lounge.

I have the dinette version. After much cursing and sweating, we got the single bed side out but the double bed side is a different story. We've taken out every screw we can find but the side next to the fridge will not come loose. It looks like there a couple of screws coming from the inside of the cabinet. Does this mean we will have to take the fridge out? And, if so, how??

The 3023 model does not have a slide, the couch is part of the box and abuts up to the side of the refrigerator. It has a pull out bed on each end similar to model 2619. The 3124 version does have either a dinette or sofa slide.

I find it strange that the armrest abutting the refrigerator wall would be anchored via inside the cabinet where it cannot be accessed unless the refrigerator is removed. Remove the two outside refrigerator grills and look for screws that may be anchoring the armrest. If they are there, hopefully they are accessible. Have you tried contacting the factory? They may be able to walk you through the removal process. At the very least, they may confirm if there are screws anchoring the armrest from within the refrigerator wall.

I have removed my refrigerator and although it is a bit tricky, it can be safely done. I can provide a set of directions if you see that as a last resort.

Dick- It kinda makes sense. That cabinet wall is so thin it wouldn’t provide much to anchor to. I could totally see the armrest being secured from inside the fridge cavity. Plus going from the armrest into the cabinet you run the risk of drilling into the fridge.

Thumbs down

well, we pulled the outside covers off and there is no way to get to the screws. How tricky is it to get the fridge out?

Here are the steps I used to remove the Norcold N300.3 unit from my TM. Before completely removing the refrigerator, check to see how far out it needs to come in order to access and remove the screws holding the arm rest in place.

Removal of Norcold N300.3 3-Way Refrigerator

Removing the Norcold N300.3 refrigerator from the TrailManor cabinet is a fairly easy process provided you follow a few precautions and proceed slowly.

- Make sure to turn off the propane at the tank(s)
- Remove the refrigerator door by unscrewing the top hinge screw then lifting up the door off the lower hinge. Keep track of any washers
- Remove all the screws on each side of the unit collar (4th thumbnail)
- Remove the upper and lower outside refrigerator grills
- Turn the propane valve located at the base of the refrigerator, in the lower compartment to the “off” position (1st thumbnail)
- Unplug the AC power cord (1st thumbnail)
- Carefully disconnect the 2 12v DC wires paying attention to how they connect (1st thumbnail)
- Using 2 wrenches, one to prevent the fixture from moving, disconnect the gas line to the refrigerator (1st thumbnail)
- From the upper grill opening, remove the dryer duct from the divider board (2nd thumbnail)
- Remove the divider board and any insulation that may be present (2nd thumbnail)
- It might be easier in the long run to also remove the dryer hose base plate and place the hose aside (3rd thumbnail)
- Move to the inside of the TM and carefully remove the small piece of quarter round molding at the base of the refrigerator (4th thumbnail)
- You are ready to remove the unit by gently pushing it out of the cabinet from outside the TM. I recommend you push close to the base without pressing on any of the fixtures. The object is to get it to move forward a small amount. The rest of the removal can be done from inside the TM. Place your hand inside the top wall and gently lift up while pulling the unit forward. There may be shims on the floor under the base of the unit. Again, you want to move carefully and slowly paying attention to any significant resistance to movement. If you do feel resistance stop and try to determine where it might be binding.
- Reinstall the unit in reverse order and be sure to do a gas leak test at the gas line connection.

Additional information on the N300.3 refrigerator can be found from this site" http://www.rialtainfo.com/winnebago/...m#thermocouple Click on the "Replacing the Thermocouple on the N300.3" to read the authors description of how to remove the unit from the cabinet enclosure. Keep in mind he is working on a different RV. My refrigerator does not have any points of attachment (to the floor) at the bottom, rear location.

Thanks for updating this post. I also removed our couch and had it reupholstered in 2017. But I have the living room slide making the job a lot easier. One thing I've learned when it comes to doing any work on my TM - always take photos of each step. It makes putting things together again much easier.
