Default New Fridge Switch question

As a new TM owner I have read some of the Q.and A. on an exterior fridge switch and understand we do not want battery draw when the veh. is not operational.
If you are talking a few hours or so for a stop, meal, sight seeing etc. why not just unplug the trailer from the TV?

Like I said recently, that will save the battery in the truck, but still kill the batteries in the trailer. You need charged batteries in the trailer to operate the trailer brakes in a break away situation.

For a gas stop I don't worry about it. For a dinner stop, I disconnect all batteries that power the TM fridge.
