Proper position of Wire Basket in Thetford Toilet

The wire basket is angled at the top -- with one side being higher than the other. I can't remember its position when I disassembled it.

Does the high side go toward to the front or the back ? I'm not going to bother to secure the basket to the bottom of tank because, again, we don't use the toilet for solid waste.

The high side goes toward the front of the toilet. You'll see the bowl is shallower in the front, which makes room for the "basket". It won't even fit the other way.

Thanks Dave, you're a plumber's best friend -- next to a good snake. But looks like (from the pics) that you could use a new pair of shoes.

I will have you know that those shoes are still serving me faithfully. My wife wants me to throw them out too, but I won't hear of it. It would take a long time to break in a new pair.....
