I expect you will get a lot of suggestions here. I personally prefer Dow 5200. This is very sticky, a little difficult to work with and hard to remove, BUT it will seal and last forever. What ever you use, be sure to remove the old caulk until you are into an area that is sealed well , then clean both surfaces good with alcohol. I good test for how well the existing caulk is sealing is to remove the old caulk until the surface under it is clean. Areas will bad seals will be dirty underneath.

You got me. Thanks for catching that. Yes 3M 5200.

I know some folks don't lke it because it is a little messy to work with and tough to remove, but I want it to last.

5200 is great stuff -- very permanent. If you ever think you may need to remove it, use 3M 4200. That's what I used on my roof. It's toned down a notch from the 5200.
