Default Parts for a sharp micro?

So I am missing my defrost button on my sharp microwave. Anyone know if I can get parts for it? It's over 15 YO. If I can't get parts which I am going to assume I can not. Is there a way I can make a button that will work? I am not good with electronics but I assume since these are real buttons that it's a tactile button that pushes something (usually silicone pad) onto the board inside?

We do use the defrost quite a bit and love the micro. I wpuld hare to have to replace the micro just because of a single button.

TY

Are you talking about the rubber cover of the push button? I see Ebay has some buttons and even control panels. I'd search there.

Yes... but I don't think they are rubber. Have to check. I thinknthey are plastic. What do you even call those things so I can search??? Plastic push downs? And wonder if I will find the right size. I know is it's a long shot.

To clarify. It's one of those small circular buttons about thr big door opener oval button on the bottom right. If you zoom into the picture you can see one of the buttons is missing.

Check this link. Since I don't know the model number, I just went generic on my query. If you find the model number, google "sharp microwave XXXX model parts". Or as a last resort, reach out to Sharp directly for info.

I hope those work because I can't find any but just found my model number...micro is R55TS and searched for parts online and came up empty for a source to purchase. I believe it's the selector button on this list under control pannel.

Default Manual for Sharp R55TS microwave

I searched and did find a good manual for your MW. The buttons are not separate from the control panel. The buttons are a sheet of several buttons. Similar to the rubber buttons on a TV remote. I didn't see any control panels on the web, so if you can still see and use the mechanical button that was covered with the rubber button let it be. Keep searching the web.

Bill, if you feel this manual should go into the tech library, please move it there.
