Unhappy Bathroom Wall

Hi all we have gone on 2 amazing trips in our new 2518kb. We have had a great time. However both trips resulted in the top part of the bathroom wall coming unhinged from the bottom. The dealer repaired it once. I just hate to keep taking it in everything. Looks like there are rivets into a plastic slide that just pop right out when it folds down. We were being extra careful. Thoughts?

Rwilky63, in looking at your pics. I see a support that's attached to the back bedside wall. Is that the second support point for the folding wall?
On my 2619, the folded wall is supported with the hinge, but also a bracket thats attached to the sink cabinet. I believe your hinge is carrying too much of the wall weight.
You can see in my attached picture, the forward support. This kind of balances the folded wall weight between the hinge and sink bracket.
Can you step back and post a picture of the whole bathroom? I'm curious what your model TM bathroom looks like.

I'm trying to figure out what failed. Was it the rivets or was it the hinge? To me it's looking like the rivets failed and pulled out from the hinge. Did the dealer use rivets that are too soft?

That said, Kidraz makes an excellent point to look for as well.

I googled pictures of the Trailmanor 2518 bathroom and the light bulb went off in my tiny brain. The 2518 bathroom is a reverse of all other TM's. Once ya realize that the bracket location makes sense.
There's two issues here. The first being the folding wall support bracket. Using a door hinge to support the folding wall is silly; IMHO. To fix that, my thought is to add a support with bracket using velcro. You could mount the bracket to a 1x2 piece of wood stock. The velcro would hold the support flat against the bed wall with the 1x2 sitting on the floor. This would hold the folding wall when everything is folded down, but could be removed when the bathroom is set up. You don't need a heavy duty velcro. Even the 3M wall strips to hold pictures on the wall would work. It just needs to keep the support flat against the bed wall to prevent the folding wall from bouncing.
As to the hinge popping off, mine started coming loose. When I pulled the screws out, they were short, I tried longer screws, but it prevented proper set up. I'd say no longer than an inch long. Those rivet ends in one of the pictures are straight, as if they didn't blossom out to catch with in the bed wall. I maybe saying this incorrectly, but I'm not a machinist. I'm still thinking and trying to remember the folding door wall slides out about an inch or so to enable it to fold down. The fact that the 2518 is reversed from all other versions and I can't get to my TM to look at it set up. I'm cross country helping family.

The picture that Kidkraz posted helps a lot, I think. There are two hinges, one to the left of the toilet and one to the right of the tub. I'm thinking that it was one of these that pulled out. Yes?

Just to the left of the toilet is that white support bracket. So assuming you have this bracket, that should not be an issue.

I have not had the bathroom wall hinge fail, but I have overloaded the hinge that swings the wardrobe up and down. It is the same brown plastic hinge, I think, and in my case, the screw heads/rivet heads pulled through the plastic, which is kind of soft. My solution was to double the number of screws through the hinge leaf, and use a washer, as large as would fit, under each screw head. No problem since, even though we pack the wardrobe quote heavy on long trips.

Hi all thanks for the replies. I haven't been able to post any pics because it has been in the shop. Trailmanor said they haven't seen it fail so easily so they are going to replace the whole hinge. Hope it works.

From what I can see... its yet another thing the factory is doing to cut corners to save money. You need a longer piano hinge there. Make sure you have more attachment points. Meaning triple the amount of screws and rivots.
More attachment points means the load on those components are spread put over a greater distance. Therefor less load per screw. That should solve your issue.

What model and style toilet is that in the pic you posted?

I don't know what model is in the 2518, but my toilet is a Thetford 223 cassette toilet, you can look at the pictures in my albums.
