I don't think we've ever had this request here on the forum, so I will wing it.
To get your trip under way, I would just hack it off as you suggest - it doesn't appear that you can fix it, and it appears that the slide will work properly if you are careful. Longer term, you could call or email the TM factory parts department (I think the address is
[email protected], but confirm at their site) about getting a replacement.
I don't know that you will be able to find a sturdy metal replacement, and I am not sure I would do it if I could. Better to replace a broken plastic hinge than have the screws rip out of the wood. The real question is - do you know how you broke it? If you do, the answer is obvious - don't do it again. If it is somehow a mystery, you need to investigate further.
