Rear bed pan issue in 2720

So I just realized that I have some rubbing in the rear bed pan on my 2005 2720. It's never been am issue sliding in and out or anything like that. But I am shocked to see the big gash.

I am unsure why this is happening. But it's coming into contact in the closed position as you can see from the photos. Photos showing the bed pan open.

Did anyone else have this issue? And how did you fix this? I am considering if it's best to just rivet a small pannel in the inside of the bed pan and then use alluminum braizing rods to fill the gap/gash on the underside. However this is all just bandaid fix. I should really see what it's coming into contact with. How easy I it to remove the bed pan from the TM? Thinking it would be alot easier to fix this with the pan off than on. Thoughts?

I can't tell from the photos where the damage is located on the bed.

Sorry I should have been more clear... the pictures are taken from the Underbelly or overhang of the trailmanor. So you are looking up at the underside.

Right. But where on the underbelly? Can you take a picture show the gash is in view, along with the entire bedpan and support arms? That will help give us some perspective.

That's easy Dave. It's litterally in the center of the Underbelly and a foot from the bed pans handle.

Best I can see, where the mark is would be inside the camper when folded. So I’d push the bed in and then go inside to see what might be rubbing it. Looks like it could be in contact with the wardrobe.

If anyone knows detailed steps on how to remove a rear bed pan from a 2005 2720. Please advise.

Lift it up off the bed supports, fold the bed supports in towards the camper, and slide the bed pan out the back. Takes 30 seconds tops. I’ve done it.

Thank you I am heading home in 4 days and will remove the bed pan when we drop off the TM at parking lot...

Do you happen to know if the bottom of the pan is just a single sheet of aluminum or is it a composite of aluminum and wood. Also will I have to remove the wood and fabric head board to get the pan to slide out?

No wood in the pan if I recall, or at least nothing of substance. You don’t need to remove any fabric to remove the bed pan.
