Default Cargo carrier on the rooftop?

I am thinking about putting a cargo carrier on the roof of a 3124KS. Has anyone ever done this? How would I attach it securely? I am talking about the same type that is shaped kinda like a clam and goes on the roof of an SUV.

One thing to realize is that the more weight you put up there the harder it will be to open. If you unload it first that will ease things greatly.

"F" track for mounting hurricane panels and Loctite Depend 330. My solar panel is mounted that way. You can bolt anything you want up there.

"F" track is available at most Lowes and Home Depots in hurrican prone areas. If you are interested in pursuing this route let me know. If after discussing it you are still interested I'll be happy to pick up a track and send it to you.

As far as opening the TM with a "cargo carrier" on it, I'd say, forget it. My 2720SL has the A/C and a 27 Lb. solar panel. Even though I could open it, after having it inspected at the factory I ended up changing one torsion bar to get the right amount of lift. If I ever take the panel off I'm going to have to much lift.

You don't want a variable weight sitting on your TM's roof and if the carrier is too heavy you may need to change your torsion bars.
