Default Lowest Price

How can I get the best price for a new camper. Is it better to buy from the manufacturer or a dealer? What is the normal price range of a 2720? I do not mind paying a fair price but I have to watch what I spend, retired since 1992.

I don't believe you can buy a TM from the factory - they sell only to dealers, and don't do retail transactions.

Be aware that in the rest of the RV world, it is not uncommon to find that a busy dealer service shop will not schedule you for repair or maintenance service on a unit you did not buy from them. They are just too busy. Or they may move you to the back of the line. I've never experienced this on either of my two past TM's, and I don't know how this plays out in the event you bought a used unit from a third party. I do know that some dealers (I'm thinking of MCD on Cape Cod in particular) do not subscribe to this theory, so perhaps TMs are different. But you might give a bit of extra consideration to the dealer nearest you.

You might take a look at this thread, where the same basic question was asked.

Where would one find MSRP for the different models? Is it on the website and I just missed it?

When I was shopping for a new one I spoke with the Trailmanor sales manager, Casey Zimmerman 320-309-7959. He provided a wealth of information and gave me honest answers. Even when I decided to buy from the used market he still was willing to answer questions. He has a vested interest in seeing you in a TM. He is a good source for MSRP and any sales question. He even put me in touch with the TM parts dept when I couldn’t reach them on the phone.

Basically he told me the further the dealer is from the factory the higher the price because they add the destination charge in their sales price. If you happen to live near the factory or are willing to travel to a dealer near it, then you’ll usually get the best price.

TM dealers don’t seem to negotiate much. The best I could get was $500 off listed price.

Prosser RV in WI seemed to always have the best price I could find on a new model. I think they are the closest as well.

With that said, RV sales have skyrocketed during this pandemic, so don’t expect the deal of the century right now.

What model(s) are you considering?
