Adding frame mounted spare tire rack to a '99 TM2720

Hi,

New here....

We bought a used 2720. We cannot have the spare tire on the bumper in order to fit in our garage so we are interested in the factory under-frame spare tire rack.

Has anyone installed this to an older model TM? Could it be a DIY job if we could obtain the kit or do you think the factory needs to install (i.e., weld)?

I am replying to my own original post...

I spoke with the factory. Their concern was ground clearance as apparently newer TM are somewhat higher. I measured mine and ground clearance would be no worse that the stabilizers present. However in measuring I found the real show stopper...

The angle running between the frame rails underneath my TM is on 22" centers. A spare tire at approx. 26" diameter would not fit up between.
