Exclamation 1991 lift kit

My 1991 model has a leaf spring suspension. The springs are mounted to the bottom of the axle with the plate on the bottom of the springs and the u bolts on top of the axle. The axle is curved up on both ends. Could you lift this camper by removing the axle and fliping it up side down? This would cause the springs to be mounted on top of the axle instead of the bottom with the u bolts on the bottom of the axle and the plate on top. If not, the only other way I see is to make longer spring mounts.Any ideas?

Thumbs up Flipped. . .

Before I had my TM I had a Coleman / made by Fleetwood, model Santa Fe pop-up. As I wanted to take it up "two tracking" in Carson National Forest in northern New Mexico the dealer "flipped" the axle for me in order to get a little more ground clearance. In the end the leaf springs were sitting atop the axle and not mounted below it. It worked quite well for that rig. Made it level with my TV and got the bottom of the pop-up a little higher off the ground. However it is not something that I would do myself.
