Tub replacement

Has anyone replaced the old style tub with the new deeper one? I bought a new tub when we were at the factory last fall and I'm trying to put it in. It seems like it's too tall and I'm wondering if I have to cut it down. The edge toward the rear has to go under the rear bathroom wall, evidently. Then all the plumbing is made with that blankety blank PEX so it's hard to work with. . . .
