Default problems closing awning

hi everyone, just came back to kc mo, from 10 days in nj, it was nice to go back home. we visited fam in ny , pa, and took the jersey transit train into nyc. it feels strange seeing soldiers patrolling penn sta, and all i can think of the nice things i`ll like to do to osama if i just happened to bump in to him. but i can`t get into that now. when we were closing down the trailer, i was closing the awning and it wasn`t going all the way in, finally when i managed to close it, i wasn`t completely flush with the casing, it remained closed for whole trip back home but i`m wondering if i have lubricate something or what, any ideas before i do anything.? thanks louie

Funny you should mention this, I noticed the same thing on my TM awning this past weekend. I don't know how big your gap is, but mine was about 1/8" but I noticed that the awning was not into the bracket flush. I tried "tightening" it up, but the screw would not turn any farther. I opened it a little and returned it and it was a little improved, but still not fully seated like it used to be........

So, I too am interested in hearing what others have to say.

Default Maybe I Can Help

I had the same problem with the awning, when I first closed it. Then, I found out that the "feet" for the supports need to be tucked back underneath the red tabs in the middle of the awning. To do this, when you are putting the supports back into the awning case, put the ends of the awning into the case, tuck the feet under the red tabs, THEN press on the ends of the supports so that they close into the case.

The checklist and user manual on this forum has several VERY helpful pictures and instructions for opening, setting up, and closing the awning.

I hope this helps.

Default Follow-up Info

The manual I referred to in my earlier post is called
Mike and Kelly's TrailManor 2720 User's Manual

I recommend you keep a copy handy. Lots of folks have found helpful information there, in addition to the checklists!

In my case, the feet are stored just as indicated in the manual. I am thinking Texas_Camper is on the mark for mine. I will try that when we go camping over Memorial Day weekend.
