+1 on check the rims. For LRD make sure they are 6" rims and rated over 2200 lbs. Also metal valve stems.

Have tried two different WiFi TPMS and neither had the range from the TM to the TV. Have three displays on dash now and really do not need a 4th.

Does anybody know anything about Autogrip tire? My local tire store is recommending them.

InnoTechRV, Its an off brand. I found it to be the same one as a larger brand name, just different label. I did have an issue with a sensor and customer service was great. Had the new sensor in 2-3 days.

Re: AutoGrip - the first two letters after the DOT will tell you who made it.

I would only consider trailer tires that have a nylon cap or overlay. Will show up as one nylon ply on the sidewall.

This discussion on tires is very educational. I'm running Carlisle ST215-R75-14 that are just turning 4 years old. One is a Load Rang C and the other is a D. The tires say max pressure 50lbs. That is what I run them at. I usually am going about 60-65mph and they are a smooth ride.

How do you find out about the rim specs?

The rim specs are stamped into the inside part of the rim. To see that you have to break down the tire and take it off the rim. Only then will you be able to find the rim load rating....but if you have the original rims that came with your TM I would guess that they are rated to 65 psi....to know for sure, you'll have to remove the tire.....and when you do that...get Maxxis tires! They are simply the very best trailer tres on the market. Since I've had Maxxis tires on my TM, I haven't had any problems with my tires....the only other tires I've used is the Commodore brand (I call them Commode Door brand!). You at least should get another load range "D" tire and either ditch the "C" range one or keep it for a spare.

I just purchased 2 Goodyear Marathons 225 15 Load Range D and two new 15" wheels. Total cost was $352 including metal valve stems and balancing... the opinion of these tires seems to be mixed on this forum, but i really don't want to buy tires online. I would have gone with Maxxis, but they don't have any dealers on the East Coast. The Marathons are a replacement for my barely 4 year old Khumo tires after a blowout on the highway.

That is not always true but think a 15x6JJ is going to be over 2K lbs, it is the narrower ones you need to watch for.

(The 15x5 Dexstar is only rated for 1870 lbs.)

Had a blowout yesterday.

On the way home (Florida) from Wisconsin, we had a blowout on I-75 just south of Atlanta. It was the dreaded road side blowout so it took the drain lines out. Fortunately, there was a wide shoulder and nice flat grassy area at the side of the road. I started changing the tire when a good samaritan with power tools and air compressor stopped to help. We put the spare on and he sent me on my way.

The tires are not that old, 2013, but not new either. They are GY Marathon ST225/75R15 'D' rated. So now, checking the rim for damage and the search for new tires.
