Default 2005 2720SD side window

I had an OOOPS backing up and broke the side window closest to the hitch on my 2005 2720SD. The window is about 25 1/4 inch wide by 23 1/4 inch high with white frame. Only the sliding window part broke, but I am not sure I can disassemble the window, so I probably need the whole window assembly.
thanks,
Mike

I’m parting out a 2002 2619, I think it has the Hehr windows. I can probably help you out here.

Dis-assembling the window is annoying, but not a big deal. But how much of the "window" did you break? If only the glass itself, Waverly's suggestion is probably best. But if the frame is bent or broken, you will probably want to work with Shane. I went through this a few years ago, and Hehr replacements directly from the Hehr distributor are very expensive.

The inconvenience will be this. Hehr makes probably a thousand different RV windows - literally. They have individual designs for every window on every motor home / motor coach / trailer on the market. And many of them seem identical, especially if you simply measure the dimensions. In order to know exactly which one you need, you have to unscrew the retainer ring inside the trailer that clamps the window assembly onto the wall. Once you get this ring off, you will find a white paper label with a LONG set of part numbers. This is what you must match, and if Shane's window label matches yours, you are good to go. If not, there may be a subtle difference such as a slightly different radius on a curved corner, which means the window won't quite fit right.

My story from five years ago is here

Thanks to Sonja, the parts manager at the time, I was able to get a replacement window from a scrap pile at the TM factory. You might be so lucky now ... or not. But even if you are, the window frame will be black, and you will need to be ready to paint it.

Good luck.

Bill

^ And then you have to hope that tag has survived the last 15+ years. I was looking for an operator for the rear window of my 2007 3326 and the tag was all but unreadable.

Thanks Shane,
All these options are great! What would be the cost for the spare window? Is this with the white frame?

When I was looking for the operator for my window a few years back, TM offered to sell me a whole used window for $50 + shipping. Does that sound fair? Be warned shipping ain’t cheap right now. Where are you located? Give me an address so I can look at shipping costs.

Yeah it’s the white frame windows. Same “generation” as yours so I would imagine the windows are pretty damn close. There’s really only 4 or 5 different size windows on these things… I’ll try to get the TM opened up this weekend (I haven’t even opened it up since I got it) and get a window out if you’re seriously interested.

That seems like a fair price. I am in zipcode 90278, Redondo Beach, CA. Address is 2412 Alvord Lane. Let me know what shipping would be. Kind of a big and delicate part. I did talk to a glass shop who quoted $40 for tempered glass replacement plus $30 to install in frame. I might go that way. The outside dimensions of the white frame on the external surface of the trailer are 25 1/4 wide by 23 1/4 high, with a 4 1/2 inch radius on outside edge of frame. I have not yet removed it from the trailer so don't have a PN, Visually it looks like a match.

I will tell you right now it will be cheaper to go the glass replacement route. I’m in western NY so shipping will definitely be more than $20. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s at least $50. Let me know if I should still proceed…

Shane,
I did a rough check on UPS ground shipping and got $70, so I think i will pass on your offer, and try the local glass shop.
thanks for your response,
Mike
