You didn't post a youtube link.

I'm pretty sure that we will be at Pismo this year.

Petaluma is a bit too far for us (450mi each way) for a 3 dayer.

Camped at the Petaluma KOA last year on the way home from Oregon and the Cal. Redwoods. By far the nicest KOA's I have ever seen!

Pismo may happen. About 4 hr drive for us. Piece of cake and a beautiful drive to boot!

Default We think Pismo Sands will be a great place for the rally

Bryan and I spent 7 nights earlier this month at the Pismo Sands RV Park, where the West Coast Trailblazers rally will be held in September. The weather was great, being in Pismo was great, and we even got to watch the Delta IV launch from Vandenberg on the 20th. We were originally thinking about going back to Sam's Family Spa in Desert Hot Springs, but when we checked out the weather forecast and thought about driving an entire day down there and an entire day back, plus having the option of going to Avila Beach Hot Springs a few miles up the road from the Pismo campground at $8 a day, and not having to drag the trailer through LA on those intense freeways, it was pretty much a no-brainer for us. We just wanted to relax and not do that much driving. The Avila Beach Hot Springs Resort has a nice hot mineral pool, but it's very funky, pretty much like a really hot kiddy pool where you sit on the bottom of the pool, but it's REALLY nice and HOT and they have a huge warm swimming pool, but the camping is limited. They used to be mainly a campground, but have moved in a lot of those KOA style cabins that they rent out for $150 per night on the weekends and there are very few RV spaces left, and those that are left are very small. There are a couple of water slides, but they weren't operating when we were there. Interesting, diverse, mellow crowd who go there.

We really liked the Pismo Sands RV park. It was very clean, the pool and spa looked almost new and were kept really warm (the spa was one of the hottest ones I've ever been in and a couple of the jets are awesome) even for January. The sites were a little tight over the MLK weekend, but the people who camped there were very mellow and friendly and during the week we had plenty of room empty around us. It's not very far from the beach by car. The clubhouse and pool/spa area are great, there are two outdoor BBQ's and the clubhouse is centrally located in the park. There is a small arcade with an air hockey table and a 6' pool table.

I think it will be a great place for the rally in September. The WI-FI was good too, even got to watch some Netflix later at night. The satellite TV was much better there than the service at Pismo Coast RV.

We got to see the Monarch butterflies that spend the winter months in the eucalyptus grove next to the beach, there are a lot more of them there than we've ever seen at Natural Bridges here in Santa Cruz or in Pacific Grove. The signs we read said that there were approximately 20K butterflies in residence and that the population can vary from 20K to 200K at one time.

There are trains that go by the rear of the park, they blow their whistles late at night sometimes, we woke up the first two nights but after that slept through it. If you're sensitive to noise, bring ear plugs. Thank you, Sharon & Andy, for checking it out and booking it for us. I really think it will be a great place for our rally.

Default Registration Specifics for our TrailBlazers Pismo Beach Rally - 9/30 - 10/2

California TrailBlazer TrailManor Fall Rally
Pismo Sands RV Resort, Pismo Beach, CA
September 30 - October 2, 2011

Rates: The rate is $38/night (no tax) for up to 4 people. No charge for pets. Rate for extra adults and children 4-12 is $5/night. Children under 4 are admitted free.

Registration: To secure a site, send a check payable to Sharon K. Zanassi, 1971 Lansdowne Way, Petaluma, CA 94954 in the amount of $38.00 for the first night. The balance of the payment is due on or before 7/30/11. On the memo line of your check or on a separate piece of paper please include: your e-mail address, the date of the first night and the number of nights you're staying ($38 rate applies to all consecutive dates prior to 9/30 or after 10/2), and the length in feet of your rig including the tow vehicle, i.e., [email protected], 9/28/11-4, 48'.

Site Selection and Assignment: Sites will be assigned by Pismo Sands during the month of August after all attendees have paid in full. While you'll not be able to select any specific site, the Resort will do it's best to honor requests by attendees to be assigned adjacent sites, since all lawn areas are between two adjacent TMs facing in opposite directions so their door sides open onto a shared lawn area. See video .

Agenda: Expect the agenda to be similar to our other rallies you've attended: Friday night dessert and get together, Saturday morning trailer walk, Saturday evening potluck, and raffle and Sunday morning continental breakfast. On Saturday afternoon attendees may give presentations on their TM destinations they feel would be of interest to others. Since a movie on Thursday evening for early arrivals and another on Sunday evening for those staying later was well received at our recent KOA rally, we will likely to the same.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations received on or before 7/30/11 will be refunded in full. All cancellations received after 7/30/11 will be refunded in full less a $10 cancellation fee; and all cancellations received at any time during the month of September will be refunded in full less your $38 first night deposit.

30 sites have been reserved: 1-24 and 79-84. See site map: http://www.pismosands.com/parkmap.pdf.

Feel free to call (707-766-6015) or e-mail ([email protected]) with any questions or comments.

Default Pismo Beach Rally Registration Closing

Andy and I wanted to remind everyone that with just two weeks remaining before the 7/31/11 deadline for registering for our Pismo Beach Rally at the special $38/night rally rate, we hope you'll be able to join us at the Pismo Sands RV Resort 9/30/11- 10/2/11. There are still sites available. Complete registration specifics are available at http://home.comcast.net/~tmtrailblaz...tfallrally.pdf.

Of course, you can still attend the rally if you want to register after 7/31/11 by contacting http://www.pismosands.com/. Their regular rates apply on a site available basis. If you'd like to attend our Friday night Meet and Greet Ice Cream Social, the Saturday night Potluck and Raffle, and our Sunday morning continental breakfast, we will be collecting $10/site on Friday evening to offset expenses.

Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
