That might be a really good idea. The factory can do a shell replacement in half a day or a day, I imagine. The trip from Fargo, ND to Mitchell, SD can be done in an easy day, there is a very nice and inexpensive campground in Mitchell - and the Corn Palace is a hoot!

One possible repair might be achieved using panel bond adhesive. This stuff is used as a structural adhesive in the automotive industry. It isn't cheap, but if you have just a couple of holes in your ceiling, it might do.
On the other hand, a replacement shell would guarantee a leak free good shell. If you go that route, I might consider replacing the torsion bars for that shell because compared to new shells, torsion bars aren't that expensive and they would be easy to replace with the shell removed.

Parts guy’s name is Adam… [email protected] (605) 239-4002
I have a Fan-Tastic fan bezel (~3 years old) and a white A/C interior trim in good shape. If you’re interested pitch me an offer but remember shipping will be a beast (it’s a beast from the factory too). If your roof vents are the same as my 2007 3326, the vent trim bezel is p/n 96-4497 and the screens are p/n 69-9162. Google those numbers and they will come up.
I’m watching this real closely. I’m still amazed the roof hasn’t folded in on itself yet. I’m still interested what you figure out for arched support. Factory won’t have much for repair help. You’re looking at total shell replacement.

There is a person on the TM Fans group over on Facebook who did the same thing. Ripped the ceiling aluminum down and tore all the foam out because it was soaked. Water damage had eaten the glue so the foam was sagging off the roof aluminum. But their roof was looking rough, had some really shoddy sealing work done. Unfortunately they had just bought it and inherited someone else’s issues.
“ Hi everyone! We recently bought a 2003 3023, and the previous owners had "resealed" the roof, and had "no leaks". Needless to say, there was a leak (it thankfully rained the day after we bought it when it was set up in our cul-de-sac), and the front roof had sagged because the weight of the water in the styrofoam had pulled down on it. We opened the inner ceiling to find the leak, and now that we have that pulled back and the soaked and smelly foam mostly out, who has suggestions about how to make the roof properly supported at the correct "pitch"? My idea is flat metal strips inside the roof that make a slight arch attached to the aluminum side rails, then put foam board back in and reseal everything. Anyone experienced in this? Pictures below are during the foam removal process and of the roof that we need to reseal properly- so any advice on resealing also welcome.”

I’m still spending about an hour/day dismantling and taking everything out without damaging it. Then running through the hood with a Dewalt vacuum for all of the Styrofoam making its way through the streets. It’s been pretty fun! I can say that I would never buy a TM again (just judging by the way they were built in 2003) However, this one is going to be particularly special because of the hours involved. Don’t know that I’m gonna be up for selling it as I’m kind of falling in love with mine now. Replaced water pump and that god awful Toilet is next. Hoping to be operational by the class of 97’ family camping trip to Buffalo State Park in Late September. Will post updated pics soon. And it was Adam vs. Andy. Not sure why speech-2-text pukes out what it thinks u said instead of asking you to repeat yourself. But it’s ultimately my fault for not proofreading before posting. How about the topic of trail manor’s customer service? Holy cow!

Cuzziff said “I can say that I would never buy another TM again based on issues with an 18 year old camper that was clearly not maintained and let a water leak go so long that the Titanic has less water in its structure.”
I fixed that for you.
Sorry this TM didn’t work out for you.

I think an attitude adjustment is in order.

Okay...I called Trailmanor directly once and had a wonderful conversation with whomever picked up the phone. I've only read positive things on this board about current customer service. So far, I'd rate them an A+ with customer service.

I've had several interactions with TM and never been disappointed. Should I expect someone is sitting by a phone 24/7 waiting for me to call,...no. Sometimes you have to leave a msg., or an e-mail and when Adam or whoever gets a chance they get back to you. I doubt however, their customer service extends to warranty on a 20 year old TM that leaked because someone failed to maintain the roof. In my humble opinion that's a reflection on the owner(s) not TM.

Oh No they’re all ButtHurt now
Uh-Ohhh. I thought it was bad form to allow employees on a message board/forum? I would love an attitude adjustment as well Bill. Bring your friends.
Perhaps the customer service would be better if the employees were answering the phones instead of doing climate control on the forum????
What a joke. If any real TM owners would like some info please just DM me. Good Luck with these clowns. (Now go run to Andy’s office to ask if it’s okay to delete my thread to avoid embarrassment for your DS employer. Don’t Forget to knock. He hates when you two just walk in, and don’t worry about the ringing phones, you’ve never worried about them before)
