Agree, on a straight flat interstate, my cruising speed is 65. Conditions decree if that changes.

Why? Who benefits from this decree?
I always look for the story behind the story, especially when the story seems at cross-purposes to the seller.

Never really looked into it. Think the last big change was from Ply Ratings to Load Ratings. T&RA goes back over 100 years and is like the SAE standards. I used to have one of their booklets that listed every car and truck by approved tire size.
Some vendors will not fit anything different unless you just bring them the wheels. Had one company refuse to fit tires because I had factory 91 wheels (16") on a 90 (15").

My only objection to the article is this "To ensure safety, Maxxis ST tires have an additional layer on top of the steel belts that reinforce the structure, which the company claims won’t be found in competitive brands"
This is the Nylon Overlay or Cap and is found on a quality trailer tire. It is not unique to Maxxis.
The article is also kind of loaded. In a car, the occupants often feel a failing or underpressure tire in the ride. You get almost no feedback from a trailer tire and is why I consider a good TPMS important. There is no mention of a TPMS in the article.

This quote says it all:
"The company prefers not to pinpoint the number of years before the tires time out, which is generally accepted to be seven years industry-wide. Rather, it prefers that the tires are inspected by professionals when tread depth reaches 6⁄32 of an inch. These tires should be taken out of service when tread depth is reduced to 2⁄32 of an inch and, for better safety, replaced at 4⁄32, especially if the trailer is towed on wet roads."

No problem, glad to assist.
It really confirms a lot of the comments on this forum that Maxxis is the best tire choice for our TM's, though that is certainly up for debate as you read through posts on the Tires forum ...

I don't recall anyone on the forum ever saying they had a blowout with Maxxis tires. Not that it couldn't happen, I just don't think I've ever heard anyone here say it's happened to them. I switched to Maxxis tires this past Spring.
