I plan for cold weather camping without electric hookup 3-4 day of heat from a 20# bottle. Just about every where I get propane, it's between $20-22 for a 20# bottle to be refilled.

The first is: How are the furnaces arraigned? From the photos, it looks like on several models they are under the convertible beds. Does the heated air vent from there? Doesn't this cause a problem when they are used as beds? How about people sitting in front?

I would recommend reading the owners manual (downloading PDF Files) to understand the the LP appliance and the placement, venting, and clearances. A dealer should help you with the part number for the model that you are looking at. It is good to read and understand ALL of the LP appliances and perform periodic safety inspections. I have a 2014 2417 KS Sport has a Surburban NT-16SEQ. I do not like the placement of a LP gas appliance in the sofa with blankets, so I use the heat pump in the HVAC.

Another note, TrailManor did not want to install the required safety switch required for Pop-Up trailers as required by the Suburban installation manual, so I had to pay for the safety switch installation myself.

I'm not real familiar with the 2417 model, but to the best of my knowledge, the air conditioner does not have a heat pump. Most of them have a "chill chaser", which is a small electric heating element within the air conditioner housing. As the name suggests, it is used when the temps are a few degrees chilly, but is not nearly big enough to heat the trailer when temps drop into the cold region.

What model air conditioner do you have?
