Default Have you seen unusual TM on ebay???

There's only 2 days left on this ebay auction, so go check it out. I'd be interested to read everyone's comments! It's a 1994 2518. That caught my attention right away because I'd never heard of a 2518. So I go to the listing to check it out and he says it has a double and a king bed. I thought, what on earth, how is that possible on that model? The other strange thing is he's modified the trailer with supports and has driven across the country with the shells up! All the original hardware is still in place for the new buyer to "unmodify" it so it will fold back down. Is that bizarre or what? Wouldn't that much travel in the up position damage the trailer?? In the photos I could see that the "king" bed he refers to is apparently also a modification of the front double bed and requires the dinette back cushions to be folded down. Anyway, it's certainly interesting!

Caroline,
I saw that trailer on ebay also. My first thought was, "Why did he buy a Trailmanor if he wanted to tow it in the open position?" Now that would be quite a sight to see traveling down the highway!

I checked it out too - very different! I don't know about opening & closing it up again...but the opening/closing mechanisms probably haven't been used much so there shouldn't be much wear and tear on them! And none of those black and scrape marks from opening/closing! I wonder how they modified it to support the opened position on the road?

Maybe when they bought it they liked the idea of it being small, but moved around alot, so thought it would be more convenient to leave it open.

I wonder if those campgrounds that don't allow "popups" would let them in if they arrived already "popped up"!

There certainly is a lot of sleeping area in that trailer. Maybe their family grew and they needed more bed space?

Should we email them and ask "why"?

Verrry interesting...

Did anyone notice that that TM had been in all but 4 or 5 states? Look at the map by the door.

He/she also states that all the pulleys and other devices for lowering the camper were left on the camper.
Did TM use pulleys in 1994?...
2930 lbs fully loaded for a trip? c'mon...
But I think this would be a good buy for someone...
And it is a most interesting unit....

And it's 'cheap' ,,,,,, with 'Reserve' having been met ;;;; at 3500.00.
