Default Installing new window AC -- where should we put condensate drain line?

Hi! We just bought our very first TrailManor (a 2003 2720 in great condition). It didn't come with air conditioning, we are adding it.

We bought a window unit from the hardware store that fits perfectly into one of the cabinet spaces, and we've also purchased a vent to outside and cut the vent hole.

We are just not quite sure where to put the condensate drain line. Should it drain to underneath the trailer? In the wheel well? Any suggestions for keeping dust/debris/bugs/etc. out of the drain line?

Thanks!

Installation is not quite as simple as cutting a single vent hole and routing a drain line. It would probably be a good idea to review this thread, especially post #5.

If it isn't clear, let us know. The project is manageable, if a little more complex than you may have envisioned.

Bill is right about the installation not being quite as simple as it might appear.

However, regarding draining, I recall having a stainless steel drain tray made by my neighbour. He made this for us for a case of beer, the best case of beer I ever spent. So where is this going? You will need a drain tray to catch the condensate, with a hole drilled at one end, and a hose to carry the condensate away. If you know a stainless steel fabricator, you could measure the space carefully and have a SS tray made to fit on the shelf. Just make sure the tray tilts towards the hole.

That's awesome!

I made one myself out of galvanized (not stainless, wow) but I wasn't able to get it to fit into the space with the aftermarket AC I had. I'll probably end up getting a smaller AC unit and using this tray I made.
