While it ain't pretty, it is OK as is. The lower end of the hose terminates at a fan that is mounted on the floor, above a screened hole. The fan blows downward, pulling air from the top of the compartment, down through the hose, and out through the screened hole. You have an ON-OFF switch for this fan on the apron in front of the kitchen sink.
The purpose of the whole thing is to remove heat that the refrig mechanism creates as it runs. This is important when the TM is closed, since the heat would otherwise be trapped in the compartment. It also is helpful when the TM is open, on a really hot day. Removing the excess heat makes the cooling mechanism operate more effectively. You might want to reinforce the top of the hose to prevent it from unwrapping further, but other than that, leave it alone.
I'm not sure what the second picture is all about. Is the water simply left over from the cleaning?
