Default What is this switch for?

There’s a little black switch on one of my ceiling vents that doesn’t seem to do anything. There is no fan on this vent. Does it do something on other models or upgrade options?

It controls the reading lights way up front, under the overhead cabinet.

Ah ok..so if I leave them on at the lights I can control them from that switch? I couldn’t find that switch mentioned anywhere in the manual. Thanks!
