SeaLand!
So we discussed Thetford discontinuing the recirculating toilet, and what would TM use going forward… The cassette is an option but it seems some state parks in CA are not allowing campers with cassette toilets. What to do, what to do?
Looks like TrailManor has come up with a venting solution for the Dometic SeaLand toilet and will be offering it as a factory option!

I have not heard of any state park in CA, preventing campers with cassette toilets from using thier site. I can understand not being able to dump in thier bathrooms, but not letting a camper in is crazy. Have you seen something posted anywhere?

Yeah it’s come up a few times on Facebook that folks were asked what kind of toilet was in their camper and turned away if they had a cassette.

That's ridiculous! I can see how they think they can restrict you from dumping said cassette but how can they restrict the entry??!!
Silly, but then it's CA... (reason 4,212 I left the PROC)

It is just me or does it look like it exits by the kitchen sink?

Seacliff State Beach is very strict with that limitation, you would not be allowed to enter a campsite at that park. I know from personal experience of their extremely detailed sequence of questions.
I was let in, having the original TM toilet with no removable cassette.

Wow, thanks for pointing this out. It is indeed posted on the California State Parks website. Good to know so I can offer the appropriate answer.
" RECREATIONAL VEHICLES (RVs): Only self-contained RVs are allowed in the campground. Self-contained is defined by permanent working plumbing fixtures, flushable toilets and completely sealed,
permanently affixed fresh, gray and black water tanks. Porta-potties, cassette toilets and portable holding tanks are not allowed. No effluent, gray or fresh water may be dumped onto the ground. Do not wash vehicles or hose down campsites."
https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=29803
No doubt this is from people making a mess dumping these portable tanks in toilets. It wouldn't take too many times of finding 5 to 10 gallons of sewage on the bathroom floor, especially when people just leave it, to enact such a rule. Crazy this rule exists, but even crazier that it had to be made.

I bet this is in response to the overwhelming homeless population living in RV's. I know that several places in CA where "Homeless RV encampments" have popped up and they have been dumping tanks into the gutters. Sad.
So this rule would exclude ALL Pop-ups!
