You could do what my previous owner did - remove the couch entirely and replace it with a futon like one that you can reach under and behind.

He also left the furnace out (I still have it). You'd need to either build a specific enclosure for it, or leave it out. As I don't like cold weather I'm ok with leaving it out. For my first year or two of RV life I'm intending to stay full hook up until I get a hang of things.
