Default For Owners of Doran Pressure Pro TPMS

I happened to cruise by the Doran site the other day and I saw that they have a new line of gadgets and the TPMS I brought from them was on clearance I was a bit alarmed by this because I expect to have to replace the sensors at some point. So, I contacted them by email and they got right back. If you have a Pressure Pro system, the new owner is Pressure Pro Systems (wonder how they got that name?) and their website is http://www.advantagepressurepro.com/. It looks like they have the replacements that I will be looking for in the (hopefully) distant future.

Bill, it is good to know that when the batteries go bellly up, that we can still get service on the transmitters. By what I read, I still think Pressure Pro is the best system out there.

On a recent camping trip with a lot of rain and wind the night before, I heard the TPMS alarm going off in the truck. I checked it out, and it looked like I was losing pressure in 1 of my tires fairly fast. I couldn't hear any leaks at the tire, so I took the transmitter off, knocked the rain water out of it, reinstalled it, and magically the TPMS read 50 lbs. I don't think this would a problem on the road, as centrifugal force should throw any accumalated water out of the sending unit.

This is one of the few problems with the Pressure Pro system. I and several others have experienced nuisance alarms in rain or standing water. Now when in water, I check once just to make sure it's not a real pressure loss, then ignore it until leaving wet conditions. I hadn't thought about shaking the water out. Good idea.

Pressure Pro is top notch to work with. Had my Doran system for a little over a year and one of the sensors was taking longer and longer to start sending out a signal. Last month when it finally quit I called Doran who gave me a name and number for Pressure Pro. Wish I could remember his name but the guy I talked to at Pressure Pro was very helpful. He patiently talked me through a series of tests then told me he would have to send me a replacement. He apologized as it was late Fri. afternoon and he wouldn’t be able to get a new one to me until Mon. Living in Alaska I thought I’d believe that when I see it. Sure enough, Monday morning there was one at my door, no charge. All they asked is that I return the faulty one to them via reg. Mail. I haven’t had the water problem as mentioned but it’s good to have that information in case mine starts acting up when it gets wet. Now I’ll know what causes it and how to fix it. Thanks.

I didn't know that other people were having that problem. Glad I posted about that.

Yes, thanks Chap, I have not had that problem yet and this information will prevent some heart palpitations if it happens!
