Default LED Bulb Swap

I started swapping bulbs. I will probably change all the 12v automotive bulbs. I started with the two patio and two interior bulbs. Attached are before and after pics of the patio bulbs. Also a link to the bulbs I used. To replace the 1141 bulbs you will need the 1156 base and the LED bulb/board. I used 3M double sided stick-back tape to attach the bulb/board to the fixture back. The temperature (color in kelvins) of the LEDs I used were 5K (pure white). These bulbs are out of stock right now. The warm 3.5K bulb is the temp (color) of the OEM 1141. The 6K are a little too blue for me. When you go to check out there is a 15% discount if you register for eMail promos. They will send you a discount code.

It uses the 1156 base.

Note: There are four little metal posts on the back side of the bulb/board. These posts can not touch the metal back of the fixture so what I did was cover the posts with the double sided tape, see attached (cell phone) pic.

Those are nice for unidirectional fixtures. 48 leds! Must be pretty bright.

We used this 20 led bulb that uses reflection off the back of the fixture (like the original incandescent) to light up the place. http://www.ledlight.com/SearchResult...KeyWords=54689

It's fine but could be brighter, especially as it's outside..

I bought the flat plate type led for my overhead lights but don't like it becuase it is to blue white and causes glare. I kept it in one fixture in case of need to cut power use or to use when a really bright light is needed to pull out a splinter, etc.

Has anyone replaced the backup lights with much brighter leds to it is easier to back up at night?

Is there a warm white led for ceilings out there somewhere.

Warm whites are here at Star Lights, Inc. http://www.starlightsinc.com/shop/pc/home.asp
They have a motion sensor, a dimmer switch and/or a night light option that can be incorporated into their ceiling fixtures. I like the motion sensor exterior porch light replacement with additional light control relay. Check out the LED replacement bub for the fluorescent lights. Note: These fixtures ain't cheap!

When you buy LED bulbs/boards, most come in several temperatures (color - measured in Kelvin). The LED panel/board I used (5K) comes in three temps (3500-warm/incondesent, 5000-cool/pure white, 6000-blue). I’ve attached a Kelvin temp scale. 3.5K is close to incandescent, 4350 is OEM HID and anything above 5K will be blue. I will not use anything over 5K Kelvin. If there is no Kevin rating don’t buy it, you will not know what temp it will be.

Most back-up bulbs are 921 bulbs. The 194 bulb will fit in a 921 base (same base) and the 194 come in many different configurations and temp. See attached replacement bulb.

Default LED replacement

I just replaced several lights in my 3124KS with LED's. They are not cheap. I got the replacements from www.superbrightleds.com
(1156-x45-T: 45HP-LED BA15S Tower Bulb) (Yellow)
There is very little difference between the LED and the original incandescent 1156 automotive bulb except in the current they draw. They are very easy to install.
Old 1156 = 1.4 amps @ 12 volts
1156 LED = 0.27 amps @ 12 volts
I'm very happy with them.
I also replaced the spots in the front of the TM with LED's (1156-x30: 30-LED BA15S bulb) (100 deg cool white) They are a little difficult to replace since they fit tightly in the socket.

If you have read the article in the trailer life, they are pushing the LED's.
Also, Look at www.starlightsinc.com and www.jirahled.com for fluorescent replacement bulbs.

Default Led

Hi,
I am just replacing the 1156 lights in our 2720 with LED's. We had LED's in our pop up and just loved the drop in draw when they were on.
Have any of you replaced the fluorescent lights with LED's? I am thinking that will drop the overall draw even more and allow for longer times off grid.
Thanks,
