In response to T and C, and lack of wardrobe, you are correct. Not lots of storage space, but there are just the two of us, and we won't be doing trips longer than a week for a long time. But, if we wanted to hang items, we could put a dowel rod across the top of the shower enclosure, and hang things in there. Or, just keep them hanging in the TV.

We use the drawers for the items we keep in the trailer, like dishes, pots & pans, silverware, etc. We bring a bag with our clothing and toiletries. I can see where one would feel this had too-little storage for lots of long trips, but for what we foresee, this is a great unit for our needs.

Love the pics! If it were just two of us, it might work, but with a teen and sometimes a friend along, this wouldn't work for us right now. I like how small it is folded up.

Thanks for those! It's interesting how TM switched the main living area into the rear and put the kitchen and bath in the front. That would be great for 2 people. I wonder if it increases the tongue weight?

The advertised tongue weight is 295 lbs, empty. Have not weighed it when loaded, but with the closets in the back, water tank in the back, and more space at the rear of the floor than the front of the floor, I don't see that a loaded trailer would have much more tongue weight than 300 lbs.

Looked at a 2417 today. Very nice outfit. For us, a king bed RV (that doesn't have tent material) that can be safely towed with a 3500# TV trumps the loss in storage space vs say a 2720.

When we bought the 2417 in January, I had a 2001 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 liter V-8. Driving the 60 miles from dealer to home, I got 10.8 mpg (normally would get 23 mpg in that stretch), and went into passing gear going up hills, and still didn't maintain 75 mph.

Used the wife's 2006 Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 liter Hemi V-8 when we went up to the mountains for our first outing. Pulled better, and got 14.8 mpg (normally 18 mpg in that type of driving).

Traded the 2001 for a DIESEL 2007 Grand Cherokee. What a huge improvement! Had left the 2417 at the dealer for some tweaks and a lift, and picked it up today. Got 18.5 mpg on the same stretch my 2001 got 10.8 mpg, and I have it loaded this time. Probably 400 lbs heavier. Had no problem going up hills without passing gear. Very glad I got the diesel! Can't wait for our trip to Glacier NP in July. It will be a joy with the diesel. Much better, even, than the 2006 Hemi.

Just wanted to put this out, in case someone may be considering a Grand Cherokee diesel.

They've stopped putting diesels in them. Around 2009?
Would love a smaller diesel in a pickup. They exist, but nobodt is bringing them to tje US or Canada.

Yes, 2007 and 2008 were the only years they made them. But, if someone is looking ahead, Jeep is bringing them back for the 2013 model year. Something to keep in mind, if a new TV is in the cards for this fall.

Hi All,

2417 has a Cassette Toilet/Wet Bath option with dry weight of 2300 lb. Do you think our minivan (Odyssey-3500lb limit) can SAFELY pull it with 3 kids and 5 bikes on long distances? I dont want to upgrade my towing vehicle but I dont want to damage its transmission either.
I suspect total weight will be around 3400 lb. It's within limits but not sure it's good for thousands of kms.
