If you mean my questions, only mild curiosity at this point since we live a reasonable drive from TN, but this site also seems to be a very valuable source of info. I thought others had maybe plowed that ground before as a reference point.

Congrats on your new TM. Not sure that anybody has retrofitted the cassette into an older model yet. Cutting a large hole into the side might be more than than most would be comfortable doing. I spent less than $200 installing a Curve into my 2720 and it's been the best mod I've done, so far.

Enjoy camping in your new TM.

Default Thetford Curve

For those that have changed out to the thetford curve, how close to the tub does your hand get when you flip the flush lever? It looks like the built in paper holder would be useless in the TM as well, because I can't see using the curve without the mount kit.

You're correct, the paper holder on the Curve is useless, but it kinda was anyway. The only time anyone probably uses it, is in a tent.

I set my Curve about 2 inches from the tub. When I laid out the position, I made sure there was plenty of room to comfortably pull the handle. I used the mounting plate and mounted it to a 1-1/4 inch wood platform. Made it more comfortable for us. I can post a couple of photos, if you like.

The cassette can only be emptied with the camper up. I suppose whether or not it's a good choice really depends on how you camp. We mostly dry camp and seldom have hook ups so the cassette is perfect for us. If you are mostly at full hook up campgrounds, then the recirculating toilet would be better. Seems the recirculating toilet is the most emotionally charged topic on this forum . I thought it was all right, certainly better than no toilet and would have been fine using it if no other option was there, but I do like the cassette better. I think it would be a pretty hard thing to retrofit as the water supply has to be added, electrical wiring and the hole in the side. I believe I would go with the Curve if I wanted to retrofit an older toilet.

Thedford had a manual cassette. Don't know if they still have it. I had it built in one of my campers. We would add about gallon of water and there was a manual knob that you would turn to pump the flush water. The water would last the two of us about about a week. The cassette and flush water holding tank were accessed from the outside.

Thanks Tim, If you don't mind, I would love to see some pictures of yours installed.

I pulled my OEM toilet out and replaced it with the Thetford Porta Potti 550P. Only reason I didn't go with the curve was price. Thetford makes good toilets, choosing to keep the recirculating or replacing with a portable unit all depends on what you preferences are.
I never used the recirculating one and I still have it stored, in case I ever sell the camper. The new owner can decide weather they want to reinstall it.

Thanks Tim. I am glad that you have the wheel well intrusion as I do. I am wondering if I lifted the mounting platform enough to center the curve if that would be beneficial. Did you just plug the recirc drain hole, and if so, what did you use?
