Split between Mckesh and after market slide-outs for mirrors and looking into WDH's available in my area. I will definitely check and grease the bearings before going anywhere. Looking forward to getting acquainted with our new member of the family.

If you are towing with a 1997 Silverado, you may not need a WDH. I have a 2002 Silverado 1500HD and I have never used a WDH. The factory advised me not to.
Somewhere around a standard 1500 truck you do not need a WDH, but you would with a smaller TV.
I have nothing against a WDH. It is a perfectly good solution to a particular problem. But, if you do not have that problem then you do not need that solution. Some people may disagree with me, but I agree with the TM factory and I have 21 trips for 7500 successful miles of experience.
We had a big discussion on this topic recently (last month or so). If you missed it it should be easy to find.
