Default Unable to reply to a message

Every since the board was updated I've been unable to reply to messages. I found that I can start a new thread but not reply. Every time I try to reply my reply is deleted and I get the following message.

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters.

When I contacted Chris he said some others had experience this same problem but didn't know why. It's probably something that I'm doing wrong but I don't know what. I was just wondering if anyone that has had this problem has found a solution or can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks
Dave

Dave,

I had the same problem on a different forum. Two things to check are:

1. Enable cookies, or at least allow cookies for this forum
2. Check "Remember Me" when you log in

One of these should allow you to reply.

Happy typing!

Lightbulb Reply workaround works!

The same happens to me...but I think there is a workaround. There are three ways to access the "reply" page/window.

The first is to click on the "Post Reply" button at the top of the thread. I tried that and got the "message is too short" error when I tried to preview my post.

I next tried clicking the "quick reply" icon at the bottom of an individual message and did not check the "Quote message" option box. Lo and behold, that worked! So then I tried Advanced editing of my posted reply and that worked too.

Using the Quote icon at the bottom of an individual message doesn't give you the error message but whatever you typed in your reply disappears when you Preview it so it still doesn't work

In conclusion, those of us who have this problem need to use the Quick Reply icon at the bottom of an individual message if we want the rest of the world to read our thoughts .

I have the same problem, but I thought it was fixed when I included a title.
This is a Post Quick Reply, I hope it works.

This is a test using the Quick reply. Thanks to everyone for their help.
