Plastic strips underneath bed slides

I just bought a 2009 3124 KB. All my plastic strips underneath bed slides are broken.
Has anyone made any modifications or solutions?

I'm thinking of using 1/16 inch thick X 1inch and cut to length aluminium bar to length.
To replace broken plastic.

Any feedback or any other suggestions would be great.

Welcome aboard.

It depends on how badly broken. Ours broke at the point where the bed fully extends. The bed arm bolts punched through the plastic strip. I modified the bolts by adding large fender washers to spread out the loads. $1 fix and haven’t had a problem since.

Unfortunately my plastic strips are broken 6 to ten each strip. I'm going to try the aluminum strip a try with fender washers a go. And post out come.

We replaced ours with metal strips, and they are working perfectly. My husband will provide details and pix after he gets home from a dental appointment. We got the strips at Home Depot.

I'm home with clean teeth. I replaced the plastic strips on my bed last summer with aluminum strips I bought at Home Depot, and they have worked well. I hope they do not have to ever be replaced again since I used the aluminum for the repair. I used flat bar aluminum 1"x1/8"x48" (about the same as the plastic strips), cut it with a hacksaw to the correct lengths and angles. I drilled holes for the screws matching them to the existing screw holes the best I could. Not all of my holes matched the old screw holes, so for two or three I had to drill new holes in the bottom of the bed frame. I just reused the screws from the plastic strips to attach the aluminum. I hope this explanation and the attached photos are enough information for you, but if not, please feel free to ask more questions.

I wasn't sure 1/8 thick stock was going to be to thick.

But now I see that thickness will be ok.
I'll buy some aluminium stock and start on it tomorrow. If the weather is nice.
