Default Tire Pressure Again

Believe it or not, I just thought of a tire pressure question that I have not seen discussed before. I usually check my TM pressure before I connect my TV. But since there is some weight transfer when the WDH is connected, I think it would be best to check all pressures after that is done. Is the weight transfer significant enough to make this an issue? Anxious for comments, as we leave for a week in beautiful San Diego's Mission Bay tomorrow. First time our TM has been out since February!

It will not matter, the pressure will not change.

I wondered about that after some thought...temp changes pressure, altitude changes pressure, but weight apparently not.

I would think that weight would increase pressure, but it would need to be a tremendous amount of weight, so it can be ignored because no one would load enough weight for it to be a factor.

So for the kinds of loads we are carrying, it will not matter.

The pressure will not change because the tire volume does not change. The shape of the tire simply changes.

Pressure x Volume = Pressure x Volume

Theoretically speaking, I would imagine that about 10 tons of weight would squish the tire down until it touched the rim. Either the tire would explode or the pressure would go up a bit.

Under reasonable loads, I would expect the volume to remain near constant. Therfore, the pressure would remain unchanged.

The biggest cause of pressure change is likely to be increased temperature as you drive down the road.
