Question Norcold Refrigerator Propane Problem

When we purchased our TM we immediately went on a long vacation, which much to our disappointment our refrigerator never would stay lit on propane. So last spring before camping we took it to a Norcold repair center. They got it running by "removing some corrosion" Unfortunately that was just noted on the bill and they didn't explain where this corrosion was. I do know they had pulled the refrigerator out, since they failed to put the trim piece back.
Now again this year we are prepping for our trip and find that the darn thing again won't stay lit. It lights and as long as that button is in stays lit only to fail after the button is let up.
What I am writing to ask is if anyone has had a similar experience and where I might clean the connections to remedy this? at the top inside behind the control panel? Accessed from the outside? Any pointers would be much appreciated since we have no time to get this fixed by a professional before we leave on Friday.

I'm too lazy to run the search, but there is a thread discussing a service bulliten for the Norcold fridge. I know that I posted to the thread. I believe it was in the second half of 2005.

I had the kit installed under the warantee.

This is a known problem. The service bulliten documents how to repair it. It is not a factory recall. Therfore, unless it is still under warantee, then it will not be free. However, if the first repair was under warantee, and they did not install the parts for the service bulliten, you may be able to persuade someone that the proper fix the first time would have been to install the kit for the service bulletin.

The main symptom is that the fridge wll ight on propane, but after a while (5 to 30 minutes) it just goes out.

Robert,

Sounds like the same problem I have had in the past. Here is a link to my solution:

This seems to have done the trick. Yesterday I pulled the refrigerator and wiggled those two connections on the back of the safety switch, this allowed it to stay running, so I cleaned the connections off with a little steel wool and used some of the dielectric grease to hopefully stop it from happening again. I think I'll add that to my maintenance kit just in case.

Thanks a lot for the advice.
